PIEPER
Claire Marie Pieper died peacefully with her family by her side on March 10, 2015.
Claire Marie was born September 5, 1925 in Darby, PA.
She battled cancer for eight months and was under hospice care for the past six months. Claire did not suffer the pain or most of the consequences of the disease. Throughout her battle,
she exhibited the strength, courage and grace that were the hallmark of her life.
She was the second of five children born to John “Jack” and Mae Yeager. She had 4 brothers; Jack, Richard “Dick”, Thomas and Robert. Jack (WWII) and Tom served in the Marine Corps, Bob in the Army and Dick in the Defense Department. Even with all the military experience, when Claire spoke, the boys jumped.
She attended Notre Dame High School and graduated in June of 1944. In 1946 she met John Demas from Washington, DC, also a Marine from WWII, and they were married in 1947.
She was a resident of East Lansdowne and Broomall, Pa for 86 years, before relocating to Rotonda, FL., where she lived with her son, Robert Demas for the past 3 years.
Claire Marie is survived by her 3 children; Deborah O’Rourke of Newtown Square, PA and 2 sons, Robert Demas of Rotonda and John Demas of North Port, FL, 6 grandchildren; Stephanie, Samantha, Allison, Christine, Kelly and Shannon and 4 stepchildren; Tom, Georgia, Phyllis and the late Jeff Pieper.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life on Monday, April 6, 9:30 to 11:30 A.M. at the D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008.
