Helmut Alfred Haug “Al” passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026.
Al was born and raised in Philadelphia, where he attended Olney High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed playing golf. Al held a lifelong love for animals, generously donating to animal welfare causes and caring for many cats over the years. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career working in management at The Union League of Philadelphia.
Husband of the late Viola Stigale Haug. Son of the late Gustav and Freda Haug. Brother of the late Kurt, Irma Dufala, Eleanor Gruber, and Helen Austerlade.
Al is survived by his stepchildren Teri (Alex), Sandy (Eddie), Jim (Carol), and Patty (Robert). Step-grandfather to Eddie (Ellie), Jimmy (Jess), Taylor (Camryn), Alexis (Corey), and Maria (Sean). Step-great-grandfather to five. Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday Aug 22 at 1pm at the Danjolell – Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Rd. Aston. Funeral service will be at 2 pm
