Tony and I grew up together in the 69th Street Upper Darby area. I can still picture his house on Marlboro Road. We attended St. Alice's grammar school. Played softball together. After all of this I lost touch with him however we were able to reconnect at our 60th St. Alice's reunion. Yes Tony will be missed by me and all of our classmates and yet he will remain in our hearts forever. Thanks Tony for the memories! In closing may I pass on my condolences to the family. Take care and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

To my best friend Anthony (moe) After countless surgery's and hospital stays ,times of pain and suffering finally he is at peace. He was the toughest 125lb guy I know. He was a mans man. The kind of guy you would want in your fox hole' when the shooting starts. cause you know he has your back' We had a great friendship' almost like brothers. We went on numerous golf vacations and played in many golf outings. We played in many member guest tournaments at LLNERCH .We never won anything but Moe said we were the 2 of the best looking guys in the tournament' So when you get to the pearly gates hook us up with a spot in the heavens gate country club member guest tournament. We'll make St. Peter an offer he can't refuse to win the tournament. Love you Moe R.I.P Your best friend Nick D. (Moe)

I’ve worked for Anthony Romano and Bob D’Anjolell for nearly 36 years. During that time I have learned much about the funeral business and the many people we’ve served. I have to say that Anthony could be a little tough to work with at times but it was for the betterment for those we served. Through it all, Anthony (we’d call him Antony) was a good guy to know and work with. I’ll miss my ol’ boss. He suffered with his illness in these past few years and yet he was determined to get well and return to the work he truly loved. And, before I conclude, I hope and pray for Eileen. That she’ll be okay. She’s been a good and devoted part of Antony’s life. When Antony was getting married to Eileen, he actually called me his friend and wanted me to be there. I will always remember that. Farewell Antony. It had been my pleasure and honor with working with you and being considered a friend.

Friend; Need I say more. I was saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Anthony. I met Anthony back in the late sixties when he came to work for Robert L. D'Anjolell Funeral Home, located in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. Anthony and I quickly became friends. After work in the evening, we would go out for pizza or go to Jim's for a cheesesteak, then back again the next morning for work with Bob D'Anjolell. For the summers, the guys I grew up with and attended St. Thomas More H.S. would rent a place at the shore (Margate) for the entire summer. In 1970, I brought Anthony to Margate to spend the weekend and meet my friends. HE HAD A BLAST! That year when Anthony and I weren't working, we would be in Margate enjoying the clubs and everything the shore has to offer. That year (1970) we met my future wife, Carol. Life and time moves on and our paths and professions went in different directions; although we remand close friends. In 1975, Anthony celebrated my wedding with me, family and close friends. Through the years, we have kept in touch and Anthony assisted compassionately with Bob D'Anjolell in times of need with family funeral arrangements. In the past two and a half years, I have visited with Anthony during his illness and kept in contact with his wife, Eileen. There will always be a special place in my heart and soul for my dear friend, Anthony. I am sure all who knew Anthony feel the same. Anthony, as you are today, I will be tomorrow. So, Anthony go and prepare a place

To the Romano Family, Teresa and I were so saddened to learn of the passing of Anthony. Please accept our profound and deep sympathies on your loss. We knew Anthony for twenty-one years through his work with the D’Anjolell Funeral Home in Broomall. Anthony supervised three funerals for us, my father, my mother and my mother-in-law. During those times and upon current reflection it was evident that Anthony touched many others both in his profession and in his life through his kindness, his compassion for all people, as well as his generosity and warmth of personality; all qualities so apparent upon first meeting. He was blessed with an enduring faith and deep-rooted spirituality which shaped his life's view and permitted him to see opportunity where others saw challenges. We shall treasure our memories of him always, and they will be beautiful ones indeed capturing the wisdom and gentle humor that was Anthony. St. Francis de Sales tells us that, "...there is nothing so strong as true gentleness, and nothing so gentle as true strength". For us that is Anthony. Both time and life keep a dear school indeed, and once again they have shown us that life is both fragile and fleeting, full of joy and dampened by sorrow, temporary yet eternal. The comfort we share is in knowing that we are never alone - not when the night is darkest, the wind the coldest, nor the world seemingly most indifferent. Take comfort in knowing that someone so special as Anthony will never be forgotten. As a family, you no doubt treasure the time that you were together and are comforted by the gratitude of knowing that his was a life well lived, blessed by God, shared with others and richly enjoyed. Anthony was a great man. He was thoughtful, wise, a good listener & someone you could count on for good advice not only pertaining to the funeral business but relationships & life in general. When my Mom was failing & close to her final days on earth, I called Uncle Ant to ask him what to do. I hadn’t spoken to him in a very long time but it was like we hadn’t missed a beat. He listened to my concerns, comforted me and assured me all would be ok. That one 10 minute phone call gave me the hope, perspective & strength that I needed to move forward. For all these reasons & more, this is why Anthony was the GOAT of Funeral Directors!! My sincere condolences to Eileen, Ashley, John, Joe, Carolyn, Marlo & family. Anthony will be missed but take comfort that he is reunited with Linda & Josephine & they are cooking for him & catering to his every need:):):)
