Anthony F. Romano, age 76, of Glen Mills, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 6, 2024.
Anthony grew up in Upper Darby. In his youth, he coached 69th Street AAA softball little league.
He attended Monsignor Bonner High School and Pierce Junior College. He then went on to Mcallister Funeral School, where he obtained his mortuary license.
Anthony was a licensed Funeral Director and Vice President of the D’Anjolell Memorial Homes, compassionately serving families in their time of grief. He devoted himself into building it into the successful business that it eventually became. He was very meticulous and took much pride in his work. He provided only the best for every family he worked with.
He was President of UNICO, the Media Chapter, for which he held numerous fundraisers and annual golf outings for 20+ years.
Anthony was an avid golfer and longtime member of The Llanerch Country Club. An enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles fan, he was a season ticket holder for 30 years. He also had a tremendous love for the Jersey Shore. He spent the last 25+ summers in Sea Isle with his family and friends.
Son of the late Anthony & Minnie Romano, brother of the late Josephine Capoferri & Linda Romano.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years Eileen Romano, loving father of Ashley Romano and Marlo (Vinny) Iacone. Also survived by his cherished grandchildren Vincent, Gianna & Santino. His brothers Joseph Romano & John (Wendy) Romano. He is also survived by many loving niece’s, nephew’s and great niece’s and nephew’s.
Relatives & Friends are invited to his viewing Sunday July 14th from 3 to 7PM, at the Danjolell – Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Road, Aston. A second viewing will be held on Monday July 15th 9:15-11:15am at St. Anastasia Church 3301 West Chester Pike Newtown Square. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am. Interment will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
