Mangano
Anthony J., Jr., age 87 of West Chester, PA (formerly of Downingtown, PA) left this world peacefully on December 16, 2024, after a long illness, surrounded by his family.
Anthony was born on November 13, 1937, to Anthony J. Mangano, Sr. and Josephine (nee Gentile) Mangano. He graduated from Bartram High School in 1955. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961. Upon his return from Army duty, he met his future wife and love of his life of 60 years, Angela at the American Tobacco Company where they both worked. Anthony and Angela went on to have four children, Michelle, Terri, Gina and Danielle.
Anthony had a long-standing career with the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard as a mechanic and shop planner that spanned 35 years. When he retired in 1995 Anthony took on a new role as “Poppy” to his many grandchildren and grand dogs and developed a special fondness for teacup yorkies (Chachi a/k/a Stinky).
Anthony was an avid 76ers fan, never missing a game, as well as a talented artist. He loved to draw more than anything and was so excited and proud to share his talent with family and friends. His attention to detail was impeccable and his artwork exquisite.
Anthony will always be remembered for the kindness he showed everyone he met and the love of his family and friends who adored him.
Anthony is predeceased by his parents and survived by his wife Angela (nee Martelli) Mangano, his four daughters, Michelle Gullen (Martin), Theresa “Terri” Briddes (Timothy), Gina Fucci (Michael) and Danielle Boninfante (Rob), his 11 grandchildren, Alyssa (Scott), Kristin (Michael), Alexa, Justin, Nicole, Angelina, Joseph, Adriana, Bianca, Vincenzo and Santino and his loving sister Joanne Mangano.
