Although small in stature, Barb had a huge kind heart, an energizing and welcoming smile, beautiful blonde hair and she brightened the lives of everyone she touched. Family always came first with Barb. She devoted all of her time to unselfishly caring for her husband and four wonderful children. She could routinely be found on the sidelines of countless lacrosse, field hockey and football games rooting for each team at Villa Maria Academy, Radnor High School, St. Joseph’s Preparatory and Merion Mercy Academy where each child attended. Barb also was an artist at heart. Her perfectly color-coordinated tailgates were a feast for all the senses, with matching outfits, table cloths, food and drinks tastefully on display at the University of South Carolina, University of Delaware and St. Joseph’s University. At home, Barb was our Most Valuable Player. She selflessly ran the house, helped with homework, provided encouragement and nurtured her children to mold them into the special adults they are today. Faith was also extremely important to Barb. She could seen every weekend attending Mass or delivering the Eucharist at St. John Neumann Church. Her unyielding faith undoubtedly helped her battle with cancer over the past seven years. Barb’s other interests were drawing, interior design, paddle tennis and running on the Radnor Trail. She was like the U.S. Postal Service and neither snow nor rain nor heat could keep Barb from running the trail each day. Barb also loved helping others. She served meals on several occasions to the unfortunate in West Philadelphia at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Barb had an incredible way of treating everyone like family. Her selfless nature, ability to listen, provide support and advice when asked were tremendous gifts she possessed. Barb truly made a positive impact on everyone she met. We know Barb has found peace on Heaven’s most beautiful beach with an eternal high tide. We think it probably looks a lot like her favorite spot in Avalon. Born in Drexel Hill, PA. Barb moved with her family to Berwyn and graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in 1982. She went on to attend East Carolina University to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design in 1986. Here, she also met her husband and they were married in September 1987 at St. Norbert Church in Paoli, PA. Barb is survived by her loving husband of 30 yrs. Jeffery M., Her children Jeffery M. Jr., Brittany H. (Hunter) Gosnell, Allison E. and Caroline M. Heath, her parents Barbara H. (nee Burke) and Anthony A. Nichols, her brothers Anthony A. Jr. (Lisa) and Kevin F.
