Bernard “Bernie from Broomall” age 83 on May 10, 2023 of Broomall, PA

Predeceased by his parents, Josephine and Rinaldo Taraschi.

Survived by his wife, Shirley (nee Knight) Taraschi, and his son Bernard Taraschi.  Also, his 2 grandchildren Mia Taraschi and Lindsay Taraschi, their mother Debbie Taraschi, his brother Anthony, nieces Christina Mahoney, Lisa Diehl and their families.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Bernie grew up working in his family’s butcher shop on 13^th and McKean.  In 1960, Bernie enlisted in the Army.  He served his country for several years. Bernie met his wife of 53 years in Margate, N.J.  They met in April, were engaged in July and married in November of 1969.  Bernie and Shirley moved to Broomall Delaware County when their son Bernie was born.  They resided in Broomall for the past 51 years.

Bernie found fame around 2011 when he became a regular caller to the Mike Missanelli show. He loved the Eagles and would frequently call into the station. Bernie was loved by the hosts of the show as well as the fans of the show. He was often invited to the station to record bits.  Just as he always wanted to be, Bernie became a legend. He very much enjoyed being in the spotlight.  Bernie will always be remembered as a beloved friend of the show.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:00 AM-9:45 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008.  Internment Saints Peter and Paul Mausoleum.
