Constance M. Wallace of Gulph Mills, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in her home on May 10, 2023. Constance was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania on February 27, 1936 to Ernest and Josephine (Constance) Sion. She graduated from Shenandoah Valley High School where she was a drum majorette and the lead actress in many school plays.
Constance completed her Associates Degree from the McCann School of Business and then met her husband, Edward J. Wallace, D.D.S. on her doorstep. Her father Ernest was a dental technician and Edward was looking for someone to provide dentures for his new dental practice right around the corner. That began their wonderful thirty-two year marriage before Edward passed away in 1989.
Constance was a loving and dedicated mother and ‘Nana’ to her four children and two grandchildren, Edward G. (Laura) from Newtown Square; Lisa Wallace Lips (Ted), Rosemont; Constance Jo, Valley Forge; and Jennifer (recently deceased); Brett Wallace and Grant Wallace. She and her husband traveled extensively while the children were growing up, but always made sure to bring them along not wanting them to miss out on anything.
She particularly enjoyed visiting different countries and experiencing the various cultures with her daughter Jennifer, an international flight attendant. Rome, London, Paris, Lisbon, Madrid, Stockholm, and Athens were among their favorite European cities.
After Jennifer became ill with multiple sclerosis, she dedicated the last twenty years of her life to caring for her and making her as happy and comfortable as possible. She knew this was her new mission in life and that nothing could be more important.
While she lived in Shenandoah, Frackville, Rosemont, Ocean City and Gulph Mills throughout her life, her home in Frackville became the center of the world for her children and their friends. One of ‘the kids’ who is now 65 recently shared, ‘I wish I could have personally thanked your Mom for being the kindest and most generous mom in town! She was always so welcoming to us in her home. I will always treasure those memories.’
Constance was the past President of the Schuylkill County Dental Auxiliary, a Charter Member of the Fountain Springs Country Club, volunteer at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Shore Memorial Hospital, and the Valley Forge Chapel Shoppe.
Constance enjoyed attending concerts at the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill and plays in New York. Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, and Engelbert Humperdinck were among her favorite entertainers.
Constance was a member of Saint Thomas of Villanova parish since 1982.
The family is keeping all services private for Constance. They wish to thank you for your support.
