DROZDOSKI Edward James, age 93, on June 8, 2016 of Eddystone, PA. Edward was a retired carpenter from Merck Sharp & Dohme where he also served as Vice President of the Union. He was also a Navy vet serving in WWII.He is survived by his son Mark, his daughters Sandra Malizia and Karen Cromley, his grandchildren Jennifer Karahalis (Peter), Meredith Thompson (Joseph), Marcie Carpenter, and Mark Drozdoski, and six great-grandchildren.Ed was born and raised in the West End of Chester, the son of Boleslaw and Katharine Drozdowski. He was a WWII Veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy stationed at the US NAS San Juan, Puerto Rico and also the US NAAS Cabaniss Field, Corpus Christi, Texas. After his honorable discharge he sailed with Sun Ship for several years but left to be home with his growing family. Ed then began work in the carpentry trade and he helped build homes in and around Swarthmore. Eventually, he joined Merck, Sharp, and Dohme in Philadelphia as a carpenter and stayed with them after their relocation to Lansdale. He worked at Merck in Lansdale until his retirement and also served as vice president of the union. After retirement he spent his time helping family and friends with home improvement projects and his workmanship was unparalleled.Ed was a huge college basketball fan and loved watching Duke’s Blue Devils. He looked forward to baseball season and watching the Atlanta Braves. He was a faithful listener WRTI and was thrilled to be inducted into the Sousalarm Club on his 93rd birthday. He enjoyed going to breakfast every day and spending time with his family sharing stories and laughter. He was always willing to lend a hand and he never met a cookie he didn’t like. He will be dearly missed by those closest to him.Relatives & Friends are invited to his visitation Thursday Morning 8:00-9:30 AM at The D’Anjolell Barone Memorial Home, 908 South Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086 followed by his funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church.
