Elizabeth “Betty” Stark Friedman
(1940-2024)
Elizabeth “Betty” Stark Friedman, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 84.
Born on January 26, 1940, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Betty moved to Philadelphia where she went to West Catholic High School and later started her beautiful family.
Betty’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life! She enjoyed all her time with them from her days on D’Agata’s farm, her summers at Clifton pool, all the way to her yearly tradition with her great grandchildren to Disney on Ice. Nothing was more important to her than her family!
Betty was the most kind and genuine person who always reminded us never to take anything too seriously. Her family recalls all the days she was singing and dancing to Hall and Oats or classic rock, putting on her makeup, crocheting and always wanting to be on a beach!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Aileen Stark. Her legacy will live on through her beautiful daughters Lisa Carbone and Loretta D’Agostino (Michael), and their father, the late Joseph Carbone, her “pride and joy” grandchildren Kristyn Powers (Ryan), Michael D’Agostino, Danielle Roussakis (Nick) and Patrick Kennedy. She is so blessed to have met her great-grandchildren; Ryan, Jadyn, Brooklyn, Ava, Emma and Tessa who will always remember their time with “GG.” She is also survived by her sisters Marguerite Hanna (Al) and Marylou DiPiero (the late Phil), and Richard Friedman as well, with whom she shared so many wonderful years raising their families together.
Relatives & friends are invited to her Viewing Thursday, November 7th 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM followed by her Funeral Service 12:00 NOON in the Main Chapel at the DAnjolell Memorial Home of Broomall 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
