Carol Manna left a message on January 23, 2017:
Ernie and his sister Dottie were my only cousins until I was 10. Our families were very close when we were growing up, but sadly not so much after our parents died. I don't remember much of Ernie when we were little but have more memories when we were older. Our families visited often and every visit included a meal in the Italian tradition. One memory that comes to mind is my dad (Leo) teasing Earnie about how much he ate teenage boy/big appetite! We always begged Ernie to play the piano for us. We were awed by his talent, and he was the only one in the family who had any musical talent. I can remember sitting around with the family, including Grandpop (the first Ernest) and Grandmom and everyone applauding him when he could be coaxed to play. Occasionally, I would spend the night because Dottie and I were the same age and Earnie was always teasing us about something. I believe it's a Manna thing because his father and mine also liked to tease. Though I haven't seen Ernie in a very long time, Dottie has kept me informed about him when we get together. I'm glad to have fond memories of Ernie which make me smile, and I offer my condolences to all his family and friends.
Sincerely,
Carol (Manna) Broadway
