Sonny, I wish I could give your family a glimpse of our childhoods. Sunday’s at grandmom and grandpop’s with all of our cousins, aunts and uncles were so much fun. Joey making constant jokes, the twins being their silly selves and you were the cousin we all looked up to. You stood above all, handsome, calm and collected and always wearing your beautiful, warm smile. Your smile dimmed, greatly, when you lost your loving wife, Lee, and now that you are reunited I know your warm, loving smile has returned. Rest in loving peace, Sonny. Watch over your family and know you are sorely missed!

I met your Dad last June , the 1st time we played at O’Connell’s. Who was this older man, who sat at the end of the bar all night, smiling , and singing along? At the end of the night he came up and asked if we knew “White Rabbit”. Who asks for that song? LOL But your Dad did me a favor. Little did he know that I had just recently learned the song, but was too nervous to sing it yet in public. But how could I turn this nice man down?! So I sang it for him . Every time we played after that, he came to see us and hung all night. And always wanted White Rabbit at the end : ) He was so cool. I got to know him afterwards by hanging out and talking with him. He would talk about his daughter, and how proud he was of her. How fun it was to find out that it was you, Joanna ! The last time I saw him was the night that you and Ray came with him. It was very sweet. Now, every time I sing that song, I will think of Frank! Many prayers for peace and comfort in the days and months ahead. ❤️

Sonny's wife Lee (Elia) were best friends @ WCGHS & ate lunch together every day for 4 years ago. She introduced me to the kids who hung out at the park on 64th St. which included Sonny. He actually took me to my junior prom and 2 weeks later, Lee let me know that they had been seeing each other & now we're going steady. It's a tribute to Sonny as a gentleman that he honored his commitment. I know that he will be happy to see Lee again for eternity.
