Hennessey, Frank W. on October 22, 2022 at age 86. Frank was predeceased in 2018 by his beloved wife, Dorothy. He is survived and will be missed forever by his three children, Frank (Joanne), Lorene (Stephen), and Rina (Ray). He leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Devin, and Ethan Hennessey, Stephen, Emma, and Elizabeth Peta, Gabriella and Alana Kenney.
Frank was born January 5, 1936 in Philadelphia to Francis and Elizabeth (McDermott) Hennessey. He was the eldest of seven siblings: the late Elizabeth, William, Joan, and Doris; surviving Thomas and Mary Jane. Frank was a key figure in the early lives of his siblings and served as a protector and provider during challenging times. Frank maintained a strong devotion to St. John Neumann throughout his life, having been born on the saint’s feast day and in the same neighborhood as the National Shrine.
Frank was a proud alumnus of Roman Catholic High School, Class of 1954, and he enjoyed attending class reunions. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964, then began his career in sales.
Frank married his wife, Dorothy, in April 1964 and was a devoted husband to her for over fifty years. They moved to Havertown in the early 1970s and were longtime members of Sacred Heart Manoa.
Frank never missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren, attending countless sporting and dance events. He instilled a love of music in his family and enjoyed playing guitar and the ukulele. His humor, humility, and quiet devotion to family, faith, and friends will remain an eternal inspiration.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Friday, October 28, 2022 from 9:30 AM-10:15 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM ALL IN CHURCH at Sacred Heart Manoa Church 105 Wilson Ave Havertown, PA. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
