Gary Mooney

Gary Robert Mooney, of Media, PA, passed with his family beside him on February 3, 2025. He was the devoted husband and widower of Joan Marie Mooney (nee Blubello), with whom he shared 52 years of marriage, and survived by his wife Carmela Patterson-Mooney, with whom he shared 5 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Anita Celli and her husband Rudolph, and Suzanne McCarthy and her husband Robert; and by six grandchildren: Stephen McHugh, Gavin McHugh, Blake and her husband CJ Mooney; Rudy and his wife Jess, Ali and her husband Kyle Toebe, and Gary Celli; and by four great grandchildren: Louie Celli, Cash Toebe, Ada Mooney and Charlie Mooney. He is also survived by his three brothers Robert, Lee and Brian.

He graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Warton St. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He worked as a Regional Sales manager with Bristol Myers Dermatology Division.

He enjoyed many activities, including …golf, poetry, country music, and most of all laughing and enjoying the people he loved. Gary truly was a man that lived, loved and wanted everyone around him to be happy.

Relatives & Friends are invited to his Viewing on Wednesday Morning February 12th ; 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church 220 Lawrence Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. Inurnment will be private.
