Castagna, Giorgio “George” passed away on November 11, 2022 age 90 of Broomall. Survived by his beloved wife Giovanna (nee Scorsone), sons Mario Castagna-Hewes (Christopher) and Giorgio S. (Dana), sister Concetta “Connie” Dioguardi and three grandchildren Ashley, Madison and Kaleb. Predeceased by his sister Mary Polizzi.

In 1966, George moved from Sicily to the Overbrook section of Philadelphia with his wife where he began his American dream.  He was partners in a landscaping firm servicing many customers along the Main Line with his acute attention to detail and hard work ethic. George enjoyed fishing and hunting while spending time in the family cabin in the Poconos. At home, you could always find George in the garden tending to his many varieties of vegetables or making his wine.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Wednesday evening 6PM – 8PM and Thursday 8:30AM – 10AM at Danjolell Memorial Home 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008.  Funeral Mass 10:30AM Saint Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073.  Internment Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in George’s honor to either the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund.
