Harry was an amazing individual and at times a complicated individual. He was born in New York City as the middle brother of six boys (Michael, Allen, David, Greg and Tony). His Mom and Dad, Dorothy and Harry Sr have both moved on. He also had many cousins, nieces and nephews. They all loved Junnie, as he was fondly called by the family.
What we remember most was his devotion to getting a formidable education, reading, cooking, sharing his opinion and traveling. The world was meant to be visited.
As his oldest brother, I enjoyed most our walks and engaging conversation as young adults. Our geographical separation as aging adults limited our time together. I regret having not spent more time with Harry and remind him that I loved his being, although I didn’t always agree with him. I’m sure his spirit is smiling. Many years ago we debated the importance to know what’s in the box before you think outside the box. We never found the box.
Harry had a life partner, Elton. They cared dearly for each other. The family takes comfort that Harry and Elton shared a special relationship for over twenty years.
God has given us an imperfect world to give us an opportunity to perfect it. Harry’s presence certainly chipped away at making this a better world.
