We are heartbroken and find it so hard to say goodbye. You were like a shining star, leaving us with the warmth of your final rays before you gently faded away. Over the 40 years we've known each other, you've always remained in our hearts as the lively, cheerful, and sincere person you’ve always been. In missing you, we feel once again your optimism, your free spirit, and your inner strength. In heaven, there is no more pain. We believe you’ve become a radiant spirit, carefree and joyful. Your voice and smile will stay with us forever. May you rest in peace, dear friend.

I met Hongzhuang 40 years ago when we worked at the same lab at Guangzhou, China. We became close friends since then. We had a few chances to see each other at US. She was a smart woman. She cared about her family and her friends. I miss our talking on the phone and chatting on the WeChat. I will miss my dear friend always.

My dear friend and neighbor Peng, You made me laugh so many times….I loved how you refer to out decks as “balconies” (so much more elegant!) and our neighborhood as “our village”. I always smiled when you couldn’t find the right English word and would close your eyes and tap in your forehead quickly about five times to retrieve the word you were looking for. And I will always remember your last words to me when I was leaving your hospital room after a visit. “Susan, zip your purse!!!! You are in the city!!!!!” She definitely won that argument ❤️❤️❤️ I will miss you always.
