JEAN N. PALMORE Jean N. Palmore ( nee Neiss ), age 88 years of Brookhaven, on Feb. 2, 2014 surrounded by her family. Jean was a longtime, dedicated Phillies fan. She was born on January 15, 1926 and grew up in Collingdale, Pa. Jean played the piano and in high school joined an all-girl swing band called “Boots and His Buddies” where she met and fell in love with Wilford Palmore. She graduated from Collingdale High School in 1944. Shortly there after her and “Willy” were married. They lived in Norwood, Pa and in 1954, after the birth of their third child, moved to a larger house in Brookhaven, Pa. Jean was a choir director and directed the choir at Victory Baptist Church in Springfield, Pa for many years. She went on to direct the choir at Parkside Methodist Church and finally for 23 years at Norwood United Methodist. She was a piano teacher for many years and taught hundreds of students over the years, including some adults. Jean went to her first Phillies game in 1964 with her neighbor and best friend, Dottie Thomas and became a life-long fan. Wife of the late Wilford Palmore. Survivors: Loving mother of Susan (Ed) Smith, Kenneth ( Diane) Palmore, Judith Smith, Russ ( Barbara) Palmore, Shari ( Rich) Benhayon, Janice (Terry) Delap. Also survived by her grandchildren Brian, Kenny, Beau, Emily, Brooke, Catherine, Jessica and the late William, her great grandchildren Gabriel, Dominic, Jeremy, Cole, Haley, Morgan, Sienna, Ava, Mason, Blake.
