Jeanette “Shanig” Kesdekian nee Varvarian, age 94, died on December 7, 2008 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. She had resided in Drexel Hill, PA.
Born on Jan. 28, 1914 in Armenia, Jeanette came to America at the age of 15 after her parents were killed during the Armenian Genocide, and having spent a short time being raised by her aunt in France. Upon reaching America, she had two children and she and her husband started a successful tailoring business that lasted over 30 years. After saying goodbye to her husband, Jeanette focused her efforts on helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who survive her today. Jeanette was a very caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, confident and angel to multitudes of people throughout her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew and loving mother of Mary Dulgerian late Paul and the late Gladys “Seve” Ghazikian; adoring grandmother of Paulette Polselli Tony, Jeannine Rosborough Otto, Steven Ghazikian and the late Lisa O’Connell and was the cherished great-grandmother of Tony, Justin, Lauren, Brian and Heather.
