Joan Glowacki (Tasker) passed away on August 25, 2024, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born on October 27, 1938, to Joseph and Frances (nee Kozak) Tasker.
Joan was born and raised in Chester, PA (West End) and attended St. Hedwig’s Grade School (Graduated 1952) and Chester High School (Graduated 1956). She worked at the General Steel Company Payroll Department for 5 years.
Joan married Joseph J. Glowacki in April 1960, and they raised a loving and devoted family until Joseph’s death in February 2020. Joan was devoted to her Catholic faith and was very involved in church activities. She belonged to St. Hedwig’s Church, Chester PA and was involved with the Our Lady of Fatima Society and school PTA. In November 1973, Joan and her family moved to Aston, PA where she became a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. There she was involved with the St. Joseph’s Women’s Guild and helped with fundraising and hospitality activities. Joan was also a member of the Lioness Club of Aston, PA.
Joan enjoyed collecting dolls (Barbie and Presidential First Ladies) and Hallmark ornaments. She also enjoyed watching Shirley Temple and Hallmark movies. Joan was also a big, devoted Philly sports fan, especially the Phillies, and enjoyed watching games on TV with her family. She also enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays and going on family trips to the Jersey Shore.
Joan spent her later years as a devoted caregiver for her husband Joe until his death. She is survived by her children Joseph R. (Mary Ann) of San Diego, CA; Thomas of Mooresville, NC; Mary Jane Przywitowski (Patrick) of Aston, PA; Patrick (Liz) of Aston, PA; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her brother James Tasker and sister Antoinette Fry (John).
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29th 8:30am at St. Joseph’s Church 3255 Concord Rd. Aston followed by a funeral mass at 10am. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery, Glen Mills, PA.
