John J. Martin, 86, died suddenly and peacefully at home on October 16, 2022.

John was born and raised in Philadelphia, son of James and Anabel (McGoldrick) Martin from Donegal, Ireland. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel the world with his beautiful wife of 44 years. John was a 1954 graduate of West Catholic High School and completed his degree from Spring Garden College in Philadelphia. John was in service and sales at IBM for 32 years. After early retirement, John enjoyed perfecting his golf game, traveling all around Italy and visiting dear friends in Switzerland. John was an active member of Chester Valley Golf Club for the last 33 years and St. Patrick’s Parish for the last 35 years, attending mass daily.

John is survived by his wife, Florence (Chippie) nee Mattia, brother in law Charles (Anne) Mattia, nieces Marie Harbin (Mark), Kathleen Fabrizio (Brian) and nephews James Martin (Cathy), John Martin (Debbie) and Matthew Mattia (Nicole), many great nieces, great nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James C. Martin, and sister in law Marie T. Martin (nee Gallagher).

Viewing/Service: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday, October 25, 2022 10am in St. Patrick’s Church, Malvern, PA followed by a funeral mass at 11am. Burial: Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
