December 11, 1957 – June 29, 2025
With heavy and saddened hearts, we share that Johnny passed away suddenly in a tragic accident. True to the free-spirited man he was, even his departure felt like something only he could pull off—unexpected, wild, and without warning.
To those who knew him, John was a force of life: generous, loving, caring, and endlessly adventurous. He never followed the clock—he followed his heart. Always ready to lend a hand, lift a spirit, or crack a joke, Johnny lived every moment fully and on his own terms.
He had nine lives, and in many ways, he still lives on. As an organ donor, even in death, John continued to give—saving lives and becoming the answer to someone else’s desperate prayers. He was and always will be someone’s angel. Born and raised in SW Philly ~ Son of the late Dolores (Gaudioso) Massimi, brother of the late Joseph Massimi and Uncle to the late Brittany Massimi.

Loving son of Anthony J. Massimi, Sr., Partner Margaret Brenton, cherished brother of Anthony J. Jr. (Lauren) Massimi, Patricia Massimi, Susanne Massimi-Pagano. Also survived by his nephew’s Jason Massimi, Joseph Massimi, Jr., Alexander Kalas, Anthony Massimi, Jr., Santo Pagano and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Fri. July 11^th 9:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church 3255 Concord Road Aston, Funeral Mass: 11AM at St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will be private.

So sorry for your loss. My memories of Johnny are all good ones. May he rest in peace.

So sad to hear this. Suzanne and the rest of the Massimo you are in my prayers. Johnny was the nicest guy.

He was my great uncle Johnny. I always remember hanging out with him when I was 4 to 8 years old. In my mind he was always cool, and he was always a badass. I am upset that I couldn't talk to him one last time; that hurts. Also, the Massimi family needs to pull together; time is the most valuable thing. I'll miss you, Uncle Johnny. You were always a solid guy, and I'll keep you in my prayers. And may rest in peace

So sorry to hear of John’s passing , his obituary captured all i remember about John , what we do in life echos in eternity, so i say look out up there the white lightning lives on .

Visiting my daddy in the hospice both standing in the elevator to go but neither one of us pushed the button then John finally said push the button! Omg we we're in that elevator for like 10 mins. I live in FL an I barely ever take an elevator, but myself, Maggie an John had a good laugh about that on the way home. He was a good friend an he loved my sister, Maggie. He's finally free of his long term illness an in God's country now.

Only have great memories of great times spent with John an my baby sister, Maggie. He will live on in my heart till we meet again on the other side....
