John Louis Cecchine (Jack) died Tuesday, September 13 at Taylor Medical Hospice Center after an eleven year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (nee Walls), brother of Richard D. (Cookie), father of Michael J. (Gail), the late Richard T., Christopher J. and John C. (Maria). He was the grandfather of Michael, Mathew, Zachary, Kayla, Kevin, Caroline, Megan, Joseph, Emily and the late Andrew Amey.Son of the late Dominic (Whitey) and the late Caroline Cecchine he was raised in Philadelphia, PA. He later moved to Drexel Hill where he raised his four sons. He retired in Wallingford.He was a proud graduate of Saint Thomas Moore High School in 1958. Jack excelled in filming many sporting events, and he had many exciting experiences traveling with the Philadelphia Eagles team over the 12 years that he filmed games for the team’s front office. He was also an active member of the Steamfitters Union Local 420. Jack worked as steamfitter in many places including Liberty Place, University of Pennsylvania, Salem, Riddle Hospital, Crozer Hospital, Limerick power plant and many more. He loved fishing, the beach, golf, hunting (though he could never kill anything), traveling in Italy, telling stories, attending Grandparents’ Days and his grandchildren’s sporting events. Jack was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He could make anybody laugh with his jokes, and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed.Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Tuesday, 9:30 AM at the Danjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008.Funeral Service 11 AM in the Main Chapel.
