Joseph Anthony Ferrente, age 71, of Norwood, PA, formerly of Long Island, passed away on Friday September 5th, 2025.

Joseph was born on April 9th, 1954 in Long Island, NY to Silvester and Audrey Ferrente (nee Jackson). Where he grew up with his parents and brother Daniel.

He attended Stony Brook University, before embarking on a successful 35-year career as a software salesman. His most fulfilling role was at Sun Microsystems, where he not only excelled professionally but also formed lifelong friendships.

He loved music especially Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles. Guided by his love of cooking, he had the opportunity to live and work in Italy—one of the most treasured times of his life.

He found his greatest joy in retirement, cherishing time spent with his family—especially his beloved grandson, Jackson.

Survived by his son, Matthew (Catherine “Casey” Johnston) Ferrente, his grandsons, Chase Rau and Jackson Ferrente, his brother, Daniel Ferrente, his nieces, Alexandra and Erin Ferrente, and his former wife, Eileen VanCott.

Relatives & friends are invited to his Viewing Saturday, September 13^th11:30 AM – 12:45 PM followed by his Funeral Service 1:00 PM in the Main Chapel at the DAnjolell-Barone Memorial Home 908 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086. Inurnment Private.

Our hearts are heavy at the loss of such a great human being. Joe was a colleague, a mentor, a teacher, a rabbi, and a dear, dear friend. We will always have the memories - great trips, great food, great music, and great laughter. Always in our hearts - Rest in Peace, Joe.

The first time I met Joe he was cooking a glorious meal in the Moshier’s kitchen. A true Renaissance man who will never be forgotten for his love of life. You will be deeply missed, but may your light and wonderful spirit shine upon us all.

I will always remember our long discussions about olive oil, wine, our Italian grandmothers recipes and of course our shared love of music while cooking together in the Moshiers kitchen. Many memories of laughs and smiles with friends. I will pray for him & his beloved family. Jennifer Partoll
