He was the husband of Marguerite L. Troisi with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Father of Suzanne Doonan Robert of Malvern, PA, Joseph D. Karen of West Chester, PA, Janice of Brooklyn, NY, Linda of Forest Hill, MD, Loraine David Handley of Cherry Hill, NJ and Cindy of Bethesda, MD.
He was also the grandfather of Erin and Brenden Doonan, Chris Carapellucci, Monica, Claire, and Renee Handley and the brother of Elizabeth DeLong, Ann Tariello and Susie Musto.
