CIPOLLA

 

Joseph “Joe” G. Cipolla, formerly of Broomall, Folcroft, and Philadelphia, PA, passed away on June 24, 2025 at age 90. He will be remembered as a strong man who was devoted to his family.

Joe was born in Fara San Martino, Chieti, Italy in 1934. He immigrated to Philadelphia after WWII with his mother, Nunzia (nee Masciarelli) and his two sisters, Maria Cipolla Schiavone and Santina Cipolla Marra to be reunited with their father, Nicola Cipolla.

Joe served in the U.S. army and was a proud veteran. Following his service, Joe worked as a body shop technician at several Delaware County body shops during his career. Joe was an avid golfer and bird watcher. Joe golfed almost daily at Paxon Hollow Country Club, where he built and posted birdhouses throughout the course.

Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary (nee Marziano), his three daughters, Nancy Cipolla, Maria Cipolla, and Loretta Aloi, his four grandchildren, Michael, Vincent, Nicole, and Gina, and his great-granddaughters, Abby and Chloe, and predeceased by granddaughter Lauren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Tuesday, July 1 from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. All services are at St. Pius X Church, 220 South Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008. Interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or St. Pius X Church in his memory.
