Joseph “Joe”, age 97, on July 17, 2022, of West Chester PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed peacefully in his sleep.
Beloved son of the late Yolanda (nee Gasparri) and Phillipo Marchionni and husband of the late Helene Schofield (first wife) and Ceil Arnopol (second wife)
Survived by daughters, Anita, and Carol and husband John and grandchildren, loving sister Rose, nephew Mark, wife Stacey and grand-niece, and cousins and cherished friends
Joe was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Joe served in World War II and received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Service Stars for his service as an Army communications officer. By profession, Joe was a public accountant who served many clients that became lifelong personal friends. Joe will be remembered for his endless zest for life, witty sense of humor, and passion for travel and music.
A private local service is being planned for the Fall. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Joe’s memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 (www.dementiasociety.org).
