As I sit here in disbelief and total uncertainty of what I am even about to write, I think what can I even say that could ever describe? I shake my head. She was truly a friend of mine. A person who was a such a huge presence and part of me and my kids' lives and so many others. It would take an artist to describe her perfectly if you didn't know her...they definitely "broke the mold" with this one...lol. Oh and please don't even begin to attempt to pick your favorite "Kathy Moment?" ...you'll be there all night. Even now, while still remembering new ones, I'm laughing so hard, it makes me cry. I finally decide that the times I spent with Kath, under that tree at her swim club, they were my favorite. It was us with MaryLou and all the pool gals, with all our kids swimming safely right there. All those hours just spent....girltalkin...laughing our butts off...living. Omg! I can't. What a contribution she was to whatever it was we were doing...anything she was a part of....nothing was too much! The only way I personally can even swallow right now is by thinking of one thing. I am totally picturing MaryLou jumping up and down like a lunatic in Heaven...she's so freaking happy to have Kath with her!! Just writing that comforts me soooo much, you wouldn't believe. That and knowing with those two reunited, we will be all set up when we get There.
Awww...I Love You Kath.
Your Friend Always, XOXO

Kathy when you first moved to Colwyn I was blessed with an amazing best friend. I am flooded with so many memories of our childhood, from hanging out at the Colwyn Swim Club to our crazy shore excursions to playing double dutch and chinese jump rope by the fire hydrant on third street, to sleeping over each others houses. My heart is so heavy and, although marriage and having children ate up a huge part of our lives I will never forget you and your family for always making me feel like a sister/daughter. My family and I especially my mom are so so sad. You and your family will always be a huge part of who I am today and I want to thank you so much for that.
You will always be in my heart friend. May God Bless you and your family Kathy. I know you are in heaven already because God always takes angels first.

I am truly saddened to hear the news of Kathys passing. I have so many fond memories of her from when I was a little girl. I would spend lots of time with her daughter, Gina, because of the friendship between our mothers. My heart goes out to all of you, but especially to her children. The loss of a mother is so difficult, but just remember, she will always be with you and she will be watching over all of you. May you Rest In Peace, Kathy.

How long have I known Kathy Joyce? We took our first steps, across the street from one another in Oak Valley, 10 years before she and the Joyce Family moved to Colwyn. How well have I known Kathy Joyce? From swingsets to our First Holy Communion together, to learning to drive, to trips to the shore, to being my Maid of Honor in 1991. There were times of not enough contact, but through everything that life would throw at us, individually, our friendship remained steadfast, rock solid. My heart is heavy with the loss of my dearest friend and I always will remember, even through this incredible sadness, the wonderful times we shared and the closeness we always felt. Big Louie, Gina, Little Louie and family, my thoughts and prayers, are with all of you.

It's 42 years later, and me and Kathy shared a bond that happens once in a lifetime. Our friendship was unconditional. No one can ever replace her. She was one of a kind. I have so many memories and will have so much to tell her when I see her again. I will miss her everyday. It's hard to imagine her not being here. My heart aches. I love you Kath always!

We lived across the street from the Joyce family in Oak Valley NJ when we were all kids, along time ago. It was a great place to grow up back when kids could run the streets all day without worries, ride your bike behind the bug spray truck and eat diner as a family and making sure you were back at home before the street lights came on. Kathy was a big part of my childhood , always making me laugh. I will never forget her and the happy times we shared growing up .God Bless
