In Loving Memory of Leanne Grace Lyons (Jackson/Dorrin) August 25, 1966 – September 19, 2024.
Leanne G. Lyons of Prospect Park, PA, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 25, 1966, Leanne’s journey was one marked by resilience, devotion, and a heart that embraced all those around her. She was welcomed into the world by her biological parents, Allan E. Jackson (deceased) and Ann B. Taylor (Davis), but at just 9 months old, she found her forever family in Julius S. Dorrin (deceased) and Roslie E. Dorrin (Strano), who lovingly adopted her at age three.
Leanne’s life was a testament to love, both given and received. She is survived by her husband of over four decades, William J. Lyons Sr., with whom she built a life of enduring partnership and devotion. Together, they raised four wonderful children: William J. Lyons Jr. (Ha), Jayfrancis Lyons (Jenny), Leigha L. Guidie (Martin), and Zachary X. Lyons (Valerie). Leanne’s greatest joy came from watching her family grow, and she was a proud grandmother to Ronin Francis, Phoenix Kaing, Helanie Ly, Oriana My, Gracie Mei, Inez-Teresa, Harrison Jackson, and Paloma Francesca. She is predeceased by her beloved grandson, Van William Lyons, whose memory she held close to her heart.
Leanne’s life was defined by her deep and unwavering love for her family. She was not just a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother—she was the rock and the light that guided them all. Her family was her anchor, the reason for her every decision, and the source of her boundless strength.
Professionally, Leanne dedicated over 30 years to healthcare, making an indelible impact on the lives of patients and colleagues alike. The last 22 years of her career were spent at Fox Chase Cancer Center, where she rose to leadership roles, including serving as the Administrative Director of the Department of Medicine for 13 years. Her colleagues admired her not only for her dedication and skill but for the kindness and compassion that defined her work.
Leanne’s battle with pancreatic cancer was met with the same courage, grace, and determination that she brought to all aspects of her life. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Hall, Eric Tetlaff, PA-C, and the entire team at Fox Chase Cancer Center for the compassionate care they provided her during this difficult journey.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, from 9:30am to 11:45 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 12 noon at the Danjolell Barone Memorial Home of Wallingford 908 S. Providence Rd., 19086. Interment Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Leanne’s legacy of love, strength, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever guide her family, reminding them of the power of love, the importance of family, and the impact one life can have on so many.
