Lena Curcio (nee D’Ambrosio), age 83, of Swarthmore, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving Mother and Mom-Mom. Lena was born in Philadelphia to the late Luigi and Rosa D’Ambrosio. She was a member of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish from its inception. Her favorite place to be was church with her friends. She was a member of the Prayerful Stitchers at Notre Dame and belonged to 3 senior groups. Lena liked being part of everyone’s lives and helping however she could. she enjoyed an active lifestyle which included cooking, entertaining, sewing, exercising, shopping and going to the movies and the beach. More than anything, Lena loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wife of the late Emanuel A. Sr., sister of the late Arthur S. D’Ambrosio. Devoted mother of Emanuel A. Jr. (Donna M.) of Glen Mills, PA, and Teresa (Mason) Huddell of Swarthmore, PA. Also survived by her grandchildren; Colleen, Monica, Amy, Kayla and Rosie and 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Sunday, 4-6 PM and Monday, 8:30-9 AM at the James F. Knoetgen Funeral of Morton, 746 Kedron ave. (Route 420), Morton, PA 19070. Funeral Mass 10 AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
