Lois Marie Bowers

Lois Marie Bowers went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite Pauline (Ferrington) and Keith Leroy Perry and her sister Joyce A. Parrett.

She is survived by her husband of 64 yrs. Ronald Stephan Bowers, her daughters Stephanie (Joel Sims) of Lancaster, PA, and Lynn (Rodman Haseltine) of Brookhaven,  PA, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, her sister, Barbara Ridge of Ohio, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Ruth (Bowers) Howell of Tunkhannock, PA and 8 nephews and nieces.

Lois graduated from Houghton College in Houghton, NY with a degree in Spanish and taught one year before staying home to raise her daughters. At the time of her retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Southern Tier Plastic Surgery Associates in Elmira, NY. Her passion was homemaking and caring for her family.   She was adored by her husband and daughters whose needs she consistently placed before her own.  Most importantly, she modeled her desire to follow Christ by spending time in prayer and reading the scriptures daily as well as instilling in her daughters the practice of regularly participating in the local church.  She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, playing games, singing, crocheting and knitting, bowling, golfing and baking. Her sweet tooth meant there were always homemade cookies in the house. We were blessed to have such a devoted wife and mother.  She will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 29 at D’Anjolell Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Rd. Aston, PA at 11:00 AM.  Prior to the service, there will be a Visitation from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location.
