Louis “Lou” G. D’Alonzo

Louis G. D’Alonzo, age 88, of Glenolden passed away suddenly on July 19, 2023.
Predeceased by his wife of 51 years Mary D’Alonzo, and his parents Antonio and Lucy D’Alonzo.
Lou was a veteran of the United States Army. Lou worked for the United States Post Office for 32 years as a mail carrier in West and Southwest Philadelphia.
Lou was a simple man. He enjoyed hanging out at the garage, holidays and dinners with family, and driving his car. Lou would often say: “There is nothing like sitting in my car with a cigarette, a Wawa coffee and Sizzli listening to tunes in the shade.” Even though he called himself a “master-procrastinator”, Lou was always on time to help his family whenever needed. Lou will be missed.
Lou is survived by his children Louis (Caroline) D’Alonzo, Anthony (Karen) D’Alonzo, Denise (Gil) Kovar, John (Theresa) D’Alonzo. Pop leaves behind his 10 grandchildren: Stephanie, Nicole, Louis, Justin, Chelseamo, Jessica, Michael, Christian, Alexander and Christopher. Old Pop also leaves behind his 8 great grandchildren Grace, Gia, Olivia, William, Vincent, Emmie, Oliver, and Samson.
Lou leaves behind his sister Marie Finio and brother Jesse D’Alonzo.
