M. Joseph “Joe” Liberi

LIBERIM. Joseph “Joe” age 89, on February 13, 2018 of Drexel Hill, PA. Passed away February 13, 2018, surround by his loving family. Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Mary Rita (nee DiFeliciantonio), his cherished children, Carolyn (Bruce) Cumby, Cynthia (Keith) Abbott, Maryjo (Alan) Thompson and Joseph (the late Tracey) Liberi. Joe was the proud grandfather of his 3 grandchildren Joseph, Tessa, and Dana Liberi. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.Predeceased by his 4 brothers, Anthony, George, Frank and Louis and 2 sisters, Helen D’Ippolito and Ann Cordivari.Joe grew up in Philadelphia and he was an Army Veteran who proudly served in the Korean War. In 1953, Joseph married Mary and they were happily married for 64 years. For over 50 years, Joe was a brick masonary contractor and his meticulous work is throughout Society Hill, Suburban Philadelphia and in the homes of his children. Joe was a passionate fan of the Phillies and Penn State football. His favorite pastimes included gardening, crabbing and vacationing with his family in Ocean City, New Jersey, Vero Beach, Florida. Joe was an unassuming man, and a true gentleman and he will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.Relatives & Friends are invited to his Viewing Saturday Morning February 17th 9:00-10:15 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Dorothy’s Church 4910 Township Line Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
