Margaret Mary Addario, a beloved resident of Lafayette Hill and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2024 at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. Margaret devoted the majority of her professional life to the field of education, serving with distinction in the admissions department for Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work was not just a career but a vocation that touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.
Beyond her professional achievements, Margaret’s greatest joy was found in the warmth and affection of her family and friends. She was particularly devoted to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and she relished every moment spent in their company. Margaret’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love, a quality she inherited from her parents, the late Charles and Delia Kelly, and shared with her siblings, the late Bernard Kelly, James Kelly, Eleanor Valori, John Kelly, and Patrick Kelly.
Margaret was the devoted wife of Richard T. Addario, with whom she shared 64 years of love and companionship. Together, they raised three children, Kelly Anne (Michael) DiGiacomo, Joanne (Pasquale) DiDonato, and Richard T. (Lisa) Addario, Jr., all of whom continue to carry forward her values and spirit. She was a proud and doting grandmother to David (Megan) DiDonato, Nicholas DiDonato, Brady DiGiacomo, Madeleine Addario, Brogan DiGiacomo, and Richard A. Addario, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to honor Mar’s life and legacy at a funeral gathering at 10 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, August 28th, at Saint Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, 233 Mohawk Avenue, Norwood, PA 19074.
For those who care to do so, donations can be made in her name to Saint Gabriel Roman Catholic Church. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember Margaret for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the legacy she leaves behind.
