Margaret (Peggy) (nee Costello) Patota passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was 84.
Peggy was born in Darby, PA on August 3, 1939, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Costello. She was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls. After meeting the love of her life, John Patota, they were married on August 6, 1960, and enjoyed 60 wonderful years together before his passing in 2020.
She raised her family in Drexel Hill, PA and was active within the community. Among her many roles she was a loving mother, Girl Scout leader, volunteer at Saint Andrew School, and worked several years at Muller’s Bakery in Drexel Hill, a job she treasured. Peggy and John also loved to travel, together visiting many states throughout the U.S. and enjoying numerous cruises to other countries.
Peggy is survived by her three children, John (Karen) Patota, Claire (Robert) Martorana, Elaine (Edward) Fee, along with eight grandchildren; Jaime and Rose Martorana, Katelyn (Mark) Becker, Josh, Jared (Bridget), Thomas and Victoria Patota, Baylee Fee, 2 great-grandchildren, her brother, Charles Costello, and several nieces and nephews.
Aside from her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Eugene Archambault, and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Diane Costello.
Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 on Saturday December 16th, Viewing from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
