With sincere heartfelt condolences to beautiful Maria’s family and friends. Very devastating to hear about her passing away and was uninformed about her viewing and funeral Mass. May she rest in the Comfort and Peace of the Lord.

Dear Stephanie, Samantha, Mikey, and DiFillipo Family: We are deeply sorry for your loss. I've known Marie (I always called her Marie because that's how my dad referred to her :-)) for as long as I can remember. My dad used to tell such great stories about the gang he hung out with in the old neighborhood. Marie and Sammy were among his closest friends. My mom soon joined the bunch when she ventured "down the hill" and started dating my dad, and she and Marie always stayed in close contact. For as long as I've known Marie, one thing that stands out is her ageless beauty. She was a knockout! As I got older and the years passed by, they surely never showed on Marie. It seemed like she always retained the youthful appearance I saw in old photos. Not only was she a beauty outside, but a beauty inside as well - a truly kind and loving soul. We really enjoyed her company, and I loved hearing stories about the "good old days" whenever she and my parents got together. Marie loved talking about the old days and the fun times they all had. My faith tells me beyond a shadow of a doubt that Marie has simply passed from life to life, and no doubt some of the old gang that have gone on to be with the Lord in recent years, my dad just last October, have been reunited - and I can only imagine the reunion it has been! Marie's legacy will not only live on in our hearts and memories, but in her daughter, Stephanie (who inherited her mom's good looks and kind heart), and two beautiful grandchildren, Samantha and Mikey, whom she adored. If you wanted to see Marie's beautiful smile, you'd just ask her about her grandchildren. She was so proud of her family. Samantha and Mikey, I know how hard it is for you and how deeply you are hurting. Your mom-mom is a part of you, and she will always be with you. May God be with you all during this incredibly difficult time. Allow Him to shepherd you through this dark valley - there is light on the other side. Love, Shana and Rhona DeRosa

My heartfelt deepest condolences to Maria’s family. I am so saddened by her passing. I reconnected with her on facebook and we shared private messages about memories we both laughed about. She lived across the street from me on 23rd street and she was the most beautiful girl in our neighborhood. I just wished I got to meet up with her as we talked about. Lesson learned. Rest in Paradise Maria, until we meet again
