Marianne M. Roney

Marianne M. Roney (nee Jones), age 74, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2025, in her home in Havertown, Pennsylvania, surrounded by her loving family.

Marianne dedicated 15 years of her life to customer service at PECO, where she was known for her kindness and commitment to helping others. Outside of work, she had a passionate love for the beach and found great joy in traveling with her husband, Jim. During the summer months, she cherished her time in Avalon, New Jersey, where she created lasting memories with her family, particularly her grandchildren, as they spent sunny days playing at the pool and relaxing along the shore.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, predeceased by her parents, AnnMarie (nee Kenney) and Robert Jones; her dear sister, Margaret “Peggy” Ann, who was married to the late Thomas Dever; and her brother-in-law, Michael Kelly.

Marianne is survived by her devoted husband of 56 wonderful years, James “Jim” J. Roney, Sr.; her three loving children, AnnMarie Foley (Joseph), James J. Roney, Jr. (fiancé Kim), and Michael Roney (Nancy); and her eight adoring grandchildren, who brought her endless joy—Joseph, Seamus (fiancé Paige), Michael Jr., Sean, Kevin, Brian (Emily), Laura, and Patrick. She is also survived by her siblings, including her sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Kelly, as well as Dianne McDevitt (Patrick) and brother Robert Jones, Jr.

Relatives and friends are warmly invited to pay their respects during her Visitation on Friday, July 18, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM, followed by a heartfelt Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, all taking place at St. John Neumann Parish, located at 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. The family has chosen for the inurnment to be private.
