Maryanne P. Cunningham (nee Hogan), age 87, formerly of Broomall and Aston and born in Ashland, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025.
Maryanne is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Anne (nee McCarthy) Hogan, her brother Thomas Hogan, her husband James Cunningham, and her son Thomas Cunningham. She leaves behind her children Anne Marie Lank and James (Elayne) Cunningham, her sister Kathleen Miller, her brother Daniel (Ann) Hogan, her grandchildren Jen (Kurt), Eric and Val (Mark), and her great-grandchildren Jude, Callum, and Leo.
Maryanne was a dedicated worker who touched the lives of many customers in her 25 years of service at Pathmark in Broomall and 20 subsequent years at Wawa in Broomall. Once retired, she volunteered at St Joseph’s Parish in Aston, a place where she found community and friendship. In her free time, she enjoyed going to the beach, cheering on her Phillies, and tending to her garden, but the thing that brought her the utmost joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maryanne had a gift for making beautiful crafts and enjoyed it so much that she taught adult workshops in Ridley Township. She was an outstanding cook, who took as much pride in a small meal for her immediate family as she did her famous New Year’s Day dinner for anyone who wanted to come.
Family and friends are invited to Maryanne’s Visitation on Wednesday, April 2nd from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St Pius X Church in Broomall with Mass to follow immediately after. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
