Michael was a good classmate and friend growing up at Girard. Besides the common bond that we shared by attending there, we also shared the same birthday, although in all those years we never pinned down our birthday times. We used to call puns ‘’leeches’, but I cannot recall how it morphed into that nomenclature. We also shared Conservative political views, so we had much in common. I will miss him as he was part of my life and will always treasure fond memories of him. Mark Elkins

I was sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I was late to his service in St. Patrick's but wanted the family to know that I considered Mike to be a friend and an incredibly intelligent colleague. We lived on the same floor at La Salle, we skied together in our younger days, we worked together at Central Penn and Citibank. He was instrumental in assisting me in in starting my career. I am sorry for the loss to your family. WNA

Mike and I shared many memories together in our years at Girard College Prep. Since Girard was a boarding school those memories and experiences run deep. He was an upstanding Classmate with a great sense of dry humor that carried him throughout his entire life. He will be missed by his family and his Girard Brothers, but live on in our countless stories. Rest in Peace, Michael. Hail Girard!

As I think about Michael lately, for eight years we were boarding school classmates, it’s nice to recall his stories, jokes and puns, and his quiet, easygoing manner. I appreciated all the details he had stored away from our schooldays! I particularly relish the recent emails, discussions and meetings with Michael and other classmates as we visited with him. We all have the lifelong bond of our Girard experience. In it we share a lot … a common pain, some wisdom, pride and plenty of loud laughter. He will stay with us - especially when we gather together as we often do. Farewell Michael!
