Nathaniel Edward LawrenceHe was the oldest son out of 10 siblings; Nellie Smith, Irene Lawrence, John Lawrence, David Lawrence, Leroy Lawrence, Robert Lawrence; predeceased by siblings, Richard Lawrence, Helen Williams, Lester Lawrence and Barbara Holmes.Nathaniel graduated from Chester High School June of 1968.He joined the United States Navy in 1969 and served on the USS O’Bannon. While his time on the USS O’Bannon, he served as a Cook.Nathaniel married the Love of his Life, Nellie M Lawrence on September 4, 1971. Nathaniel retired from the City of Chester after over 30 years as Supervisor of Parks and Recreation and last position as Supervisor of the Highway Department in 2009.All who know him, either by ‘Nate” “Eddie” “Larry” “Boon”, knows that Eddie was a family man. He enjoyed cooking and making sure everyone ate. His favorite saying was “Enjoy Yourself, Enjoy Yourself”.He was well known by his famous spaghetti that his Dear Cousin/Sister Roslyn Rainey still raves about to this day.He loved and took well care of his cars. His latest prize possession, The Mustang, was in his eyes the fastest car ever made and best believe he was the only person that could drive it.Last but not least, He was an avid football watcher but He really loved his Philadelphia Eagles. Any given Sunday, you could catch Eddie in his favorite recliner with a Brooski on hand.If he wasn’t home watching the game, he had his favorite cooler right by his side. Nathaniel leaves to cherish His wife of 45 years, Nellie Lawrence, three Daughters, Carmen Lawrence, Carla Lawrence-Gordon (Levy Gordon), Carnela Lawrence-Clyde (Courtney Clyde), Godson Cleophus Toler Jr., 10 precious Grandchildren, his Siblings Nellie Smith, Irene Lawrence, John Lawrence, David Lawrence, Leroy Lawrence, Robert Lawrence and a host of other family members, friends, coworkers and neighborsFuneral and Interment are private.
