Norma V. Terracciano (née Prudente) age 97, of Delaware, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025.
Norma was born in Philadelphia. Her parents (the late Amato and Merope Prudente) owned a tailor shop and raised nine children. She was a 1946 graduate of John Bartram High School where she was active in the dance committee, loved singing, and met her lifelong sorority friends. She went on to work as a secretary at Yarnell Paint Company.
Norma was married to the late Carmine (Terry) Terracciano for 51 years. They lived in Louisiana during his Army service. They later moved back to Philadelphia where they raised three daughters, Diane (Chuck) Longenecker, Elysa (Frank) Koss, and Susan (Rex Michael) Domingo.
She will be remembered for welcoming all to her home, where many parties were hosted. She cherished the time spent with her brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norma grew up loving opera and attended many productions of the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company where her father-in-law, the late Anthony Terracciano, was the General Manager. You could always hear her lovely voice singing an aria around the house.
Norma worked alongside her husband at the family printing shop, Community Press, on Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. In their spare time, Norma and Carmine loved to travel to many destinations. They spent summers at the shore in Ventnor, New Jersey at the home of her in-laws, the late Mary and Anthony Terracciano, and her sister-in-law Anne and Anne’s husband Joe Mosakowski and family.
She was an active volunteer in the Our Lady of Loreto Mother’s Club and was a member of their bowling league. She loved spending time in her beautiful garden of roses and fruit trees where she enjoyed feeding the birds. Norma was a loyal Phillies fan and loved doing puzzles, playing cards, and trying her luck at the slots.
Norma was a devoted Nana to her three grandchildren, Emily Koss, Alana (Andrew Antonelli) Domingo, and Rex (Lauren Barczak-Domingo) Domingo.
