CASCE
Oslando M. “Toti” Casce of Havertown, Pennsylvania passed away on January 31, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1939 in the small town of Inriville, Córdoba, Argentina to parents Juan Casce & Ercilia Julia Virgili.
Toti was the middle child of three sibling boys, Osvaldo Casce (deceased) and younger brother Guillermo Casce.
At the age of 10, the family moved to the town of San Lorenzo where he grew up loving life and everything sweet…candy, cookies, ice cream.
By age 16, he started working as a tailor apprentice to Pasqualino Mascioli learning the fundamentals of the trade. At 21 years of age, in 1961, he married the sweet love of his life, Vincenza “Enza” Mascioli, the younger sister of his mentor, Pasqualino.
A fast learner, Toti quickly graduated to master tailor and opened his haberdashery business with his new bride. The venture thrived and he became known in the community as a true artisan, creating masterpiece suits and garments of the highest standards.
In 1974, he brought his technical skills and deep understanding of the clothing construction, along with his family; wife Enza, and two children, Analia and Sergio to Philadelphia.
This new chapter in his life was the most challenging and required him to learn, speak and master a new language, English. He quickly added English to his fluency in Spanish and Italian.
As master tailor, Toti could easily design and create wedding dresses, as he did for his daughter; however, his true passion lay in his family – his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Toti was fascinated by the natural world and enjoyed endless animal nature documentaries, always rooted for the antelope to escape.
His love for nature was only second to his love of the arts. Argentinian Tango was top of his list and could often be heard in his home. An Argentine “Mate” drink and French Vanilla ice cream were his favorite treats and made his day complete.
Survived by his wife of 64 years. Vincenza (née Mascioli), his daughter Analia (Marco) Tarantino, his son Sergio (Audrey), his 5 grandchildren Alessandra (Zach) Martin, Daniel (Alyssa) Tarantino, Cristina Tarantino, Veronica Casce and Luke Casce. Also, his 2 great-grandchildren Vivian and Camille Martin.
