It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter (Pete) Paul Santori, age 93. Pete passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, with his loving wife, Theodora (née DeLaurentis), by his side.
Pete grew up in South Philadelphia and graduated from South Philadelphia High School for Boys. He was one of five children and enjoyed spending time with his brother and sisters. At 19, he was drafted into the Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Shortly after that, Pete met the love of his life, Theodora/Teddi. They got married and lived in South Philadelphia for several years before moving to their dream home in Havertown, where they raised their family. Pete worked as a typesetter and printer for Typographic Services for over 30 years. He was an active member of St. Dorothy’s Parish. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and maintaining his home. Pete and Teddi traveled extensively, especially to Italy, where they spent time with Pete’s family on his mother’s side, the Oddis.
As a father and PopPop, Pete proudly attended his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, cheering them on and encouraging them on their life journeys. He was also a devout Catholic who attended mass regularly. Pete’s faith got him through many of life’s challenges.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Enrica (née Oddi), and siblings Eleanor Cartafalsa, Antoinette Capper, Nancy D’Amico, and Michael Santori.
He is leaving a legacy through his children: Joy Bennett (Dean), Michael (Diane), Peter (Mariela), and Erica Reisenwitz (Billy). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Andrew (Laura), Peter, Anna, Vincent, Sophie, Isabella, Eric, and Francesca. They were the true light of his life. He also had many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation at 9:15-10:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026, where his funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment private.
