The Reverend Edwin C. Pease Jr., “Ed,” age 84, on January 28, 2023, of West Chester, PA.

Edwin received his Master of Divinity in Cambridge Mass. in 1979 and his Doctor of Ministry in 1992, also at the Episcopal Divinity school in Cambridge. He served several church communities in Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He also assisted many congregations in ministry development and business matters. Ed retired in 2018, where he was Assistant to the Rector for the Brandywine Collaborative Ministries. A superb orator with a marvelous sense of humor, he was loved by all his parishioners, as he loved them.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Clark, his daughter Edith “Edie” Bovey, his granddaughter, Jocelyne Bovey, his sister Judith Smith and nephews Scott Smith and Philip Smith. He will also be missed by the Clark family and all his friends, especially those in the Coniston community.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service Sunday afternoon at 2 pm, at the Episcopal Church of the Advent 401 N Union St, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Inurnment Private.

My condolences to Father Pease's family. Father Pease married my husband and I December 24, 1983 The Episcopal Church in Medway Mass. Father Pease was a wonderful and kind man. RIP Father Pease.

Such a wonderful man. I am sure he will be greatly missed. Payers and thoughts to his family!

So sorry to lose such a wonderful person and Christian... enjoyed his invitation to join him and the Bishop at one of Ed's churches in Delaware. Wishing him peace with God!

Father Ed was the interim rector at St Barnabas church where I was the Parish Administrator at that time. I thoroughly enjoyed working for him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a great smile. I especially enjoyed talking to him about Massachusetts and his baseball team the Red Socks. He will be missed.

Ed was a lovely neighbor and friend to us at Coniston. I'll always remember his enthusiasm for his investment course at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware. Ed epitomized a lifelong learner!

Fr. Ed served at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church when I was taking a 3 month bereavement leave after the death of my husband. I will always be grateful for the care he gave to the people of St. Nicholas. They were in good hands!

My sympathy goes to Ed’s family, friends and congregation. I remember him well, long ago, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I appreciated his gentle, wry sense of humour, which I’m sure stayed with him throughout his life.

Father Pease was interim rector at our church, St Barnabas about 10 years ago. He was wonderful during a difficult time and his sense of humor was such a pleasure. We were fortunate to have this time with him and the value of his service to our church.
