WERNER 1930-2016Rita C. (nee Suhrie), age 86 of Broomall, on August 6, 2016.Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. and loving mother of Susan Dutton (John), Donald Werner (Teresa), Karen Schaumann (G. William) and Kenneth Werner (Arlene). Also survived by 10 adoring grandchildren – Renae Marquis (Jason), Bridget Dutton, Donald Werner (Nicole), John Dutton (Tatiana), Daniel Schaumann (Amanda), Steven Werner, Kevin Werner, Jeremy Schaumann, Jasmine Dutton and Jason Werner. She has 3 cherished great-grandchildren – Lily and Eva Marquis and Donald Werner. Rita is survived by her devoted sisters, Marie Hankinson and Dorothy Smith.Rita was an officer and faithful member of the Legion of Mary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. She attended daily mass and came early and stayed after mass to lead decades of the rosary and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. She was inspirational in her faith to all who met her. She was devoted to the Blessed Mother. Rita has made many rosaries for over twenty – five years for many people and specifically for children receiving their first communicants and those receiving the sacrament of confirmation. She was an original/founding member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic ParishFor many years Rita was an avid square dancer and a member with her husband of the Grand Squares. She was a champion bowler and both she and her husband, Tom, bowled in the St. Pius X League at Lawrence Park Bowling Alley. She also bowled in a Women’s League at Manoa Lanes and then Sproul Lanes. She had many trophies for high game and high average in bowling. Rita was known for her baked goods, specifically her lemon squares, her Christmas cookies, and her Thanksgiving pies. Rita taught her granddaughters and great granddaughters to bake pies. Rita was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and friend. Rita was a member of St. Pius X Sodality and a Girl Scout Leader. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Thursday, 11-12:30 PM at the Danjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Mass 1 PM at St. Pius X Church. Interment Ss.
