Rita Piselli

Rita Piselli passed away peacefully on October 25th, 2024, at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA. at the age of 99. Rita was born in West Philadelphia on August 15, 1925. She was a lifelong resident of Glenolden, PA, where lived with her beloved husband, the late Francis Piselli, and raised her three children.

Rita is the daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Iorillo. She is survived by her children Thomas (Maureen) Piselli, Susan (Joseph) Ranoia, and Stephen (Maria) Piselli, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and her beloved sister Gloria Impicciatore. Predeceased by her loving husband, Francis Piselli, who passed away at the age of 93 in 2019.

Rita was a devout Catholic and a regular attendee of Saint Joseph’s Church in Collingdale, Pennsylvania. She was a woman of faith who never missed mass and encouraged people to join her. Rita was born on the 15th of August which is the Latin Catholic Feast of the Assumption. Her middle name, “Assunta” means Assumption in Italian.

To all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her, she was an extremely generous and kindhearted woman who not only expressed these virtues to her family and friends but to anyone she came in contact with. Her gentle spirit and smile inspired those around her to be more considerate and caring. She was never without a kind word or listening ear, and was always first in-line to offer help.

Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and attending mass. She took great joy in sharing her food with  those close to her and warmly welcomed them into her home especially for the beloved family tradition of Sunday Diner.

Her love for her husband, children, sister and family was unconditional. She was forever present, providing for aging parents, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors often times with her sister by her side.  She blessed us with a home of warmth, love and family gatherings filled with joyful memories and delicious home cooked meals. Rita’s legacy continues through her family, with whom she shared her life and love. Rita was a guiding light with a never ending smile who will be profoundly missed.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Viewing, Thursday, October 31^st 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM ALL IN CHURCH Saint Anastasia Roman Catholic Church 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
