Robert M. Ash “ Bob ”
Robert M. “ Bob ” Ash aged 81 years of Port Orange, FL and formerly of Glassboro, NJ and Southwest Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, October 22nd, surrounded by his children.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, he attended St. Agatha – St. James grade school, and was a 1959 graduate of West Catholic. After high school, Bob managed the Horn & Hardart restaurant at 16th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia – this is where he met, and married, his wife of 46 years. He spent his entire working career in the vending industry, where he worked as a Sales Executive, until he retired in 2008.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Barbara J. (nee Pellak) Ash, who passed away in 2011. He was a devoted father to Robert M. Ash (Gerri) and Barbara J. Love (Jimmy) ; a cherished Pop to his five loving grandchildren – Bobby (Brittany), Ryan (Becca), Seamus, Dillon and Maddie, and a great “ Pop Pop ” to his great grandson Kane Anthony. Bob was a brother to Leonard F. Ash, and the late Donald E. Ash, a brother-in-law to Jean Ash, John and Doris Pellak, the late Stephen and Dottie Pellak and Frances Ash ; also surviving are his nieces, a nephew, and lifelong friends. He was a dear companion to Susan L. Smith, whom he shared the last three years with, while residing in Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, November 5th from 10:00 am. – 11:45 am., at the DAnjolell – Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road – Aston, PA 19014. A funeral liturgy will follow at 12:00 Noon. Inurnment will be held privately, a later date.
