Rose A. Franchitti, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Franchitti (Tony), to whom she was married for 57 years until his passing on November 13, 2007. A longtime resident of Briarcliff, PA, and formerly of South Philadelphia, Rose touched many lives with her kindness, devotion, and love.
Rose worked for 22 years in the meat department at Acme Markets, but her true passion was caring for her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Rose enjoyed cooking for her family and later discovered her own talents as a “handyman” after Tony’s passing. She also found joy in reading, tending to her beautiful flowers, and nurturing her garden while living in Briarcliff.
Her greatest love was her family, to whom she gave unconditional support and affection. Rose is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Cesare Ricciardi, and her siblings: Richard Ricciardi, Mario Ricciardi, Joseph Ricciardi, Ralph Ricciardi, Cesare Ricciardi, Clara Cellini, Anna O’Brien, and Susan Di Eleanora.
Rose is survived by her sister Francis Joseph and her devoted children: Barbara Romano (husband Frank Romano), Deborah Stow (husband Paul Stow), Christina Amoriello (husband Stephen Amoriello), and Anthony Franchitti (wife Cynthia Franchitti, (Linda) She will be deeply missed by her nine grandchildren: Paul Stow Jr., Christine Wilcox, Lauren Verdi, Frank Romano, Jr., William Piper, Stephen Amoriello Jr., Elizabeth Amoriello, Anthony J. Franchitti, and Nicholas Franchitti, as well as her eleven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, October 14th, from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, all at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1 Fatima Dr., Secane, PA 19018. Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
