Sister Natalie Marie Lariccia RSM
Sister Natalie Marie Lariccia RSM age 91, a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, died peacefully on October 4, 2022 at McAuley Convent, Merion, PA.
Sister Natalie Marie’s life-long ministry in education spanned many years both in elementary education and secondary education. As a talented and gifted French teacher, she inspired many of her students to not only love the language but pursue a career teaching French. Sister Natalie taught at Prendergast and St. Hubert High Schools in the Diocese of Philadelphia and for 13 years at Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom as moderator of the Key Club, a service oriented extra-curricular program that emphasized service to school and community.
At Bishop Kenrick High School in Philadelphia where she ministered for 36 years, she mentored and counseled students through difficult times many of whom she continued to keep contact with her their whole life.
Anyone who knew Natalie knew her great love for her family, her loving care of her mother and her sisters during their illnesses. She had great energy and continued to use that energy when she went to McAuley Convent and was an unofficial ambassador to the sisters on A wing. She will be missed by her sisters.
