LYSCZEKSylvia A., age 86, on July 10, 2021 of Chester, PA.Lifelong resident of Chester. Graduate of Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Member of Saint Joseph’s University’s Ignation Circle, whose members endow Jesuit Education at Saint Joseph’s University.She was employed by Gulf & Western Research & Development, Swarthmore, for ten years before retiring in 1985, to become a caregiver to her parents. Prior to that, she was employed in accounting departments for small retail businesses in Delaware County.Lifelong member of St. Hedwig’s Church and graduated from St. Hedwig’s Grammar School and Notre Dame High School in Moylan. For St. Hedwig’s, she volunteered as a solicitor for 17 years for Catholic Charities; 8 years in sales of Million Dollar Adventure Calendars and St. Hedwig School Calendars to help support church and school. Volunteered for Increased Offertory Programs and Catholic Life 2000. Attended St. Charles Seminary and received a Certificate in Religious Studies and taught C.C.D. (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) at St. Hedwig’s School.For 8 years volunteered for Horizons Unlimited, a Geriatric Educational Corporation in Media. Conducted a Cognitive Stimulation Program at Connor Williams Nursing Home in Ridley Park. Also volunteered at Horizons for “Apprise” as a Penna. State Health Insurance Counselor For The Elderly.Volunteered at Prospect Park Health & Rehabilitation Center, reading a long novel and short stories.Hobbies were traveling, singing, movies and reading. Visited several cities in Poland and Italy. Visited Paris, France; Prague, Czech Republic; and Budapest, Hungary; and some places in the U.S., Canada and Bermuda.For 10 years sang with Neumann College Community Chorus. Also sang with the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Choir and the Del. Co, Choral Society.Enjoyed collecting videos and DVD’s of favorite movies.Daughter of the late Jacob and Amelia Lysczek.Survived by her devoted nephews, niece and loving friends .Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Monday Morning July 19th 9:00-10:30 a.m. at The D’Anjolell Barone Memorial Home 908 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA 19086. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine Drexel, Chester PA 19013. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations in Sylvia’s memory maybe made to St. Hedwig’s Repair Funds 2623 W 4th St, Chester, PA 19013.
