Vincent Termini Sr.

It is with gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Vincent Termini Sr. on October 4, 2025, at the age of 86.

Vincent was born on November 17,1938 in South Philadelphia to Mariangela (nee Basso) and Giuseppe Termini. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara (nee Mattucci), his children Mariangela (John Jr.) Termini -Romano, Joseph P. (Lauren), and Vincent A. Jr., (Julie), his 6 grandchildren: John III, Sofia, Vincent, Louis, Joseph, and Santino. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Grace Strano and Adeline Travia.

Vincent was the second-generation owner of Termini Brothers Bakery, a cherished institution that has served the Philadelphia area for over 100 years. He took tremendous pride in the reputation, success, and longevity of the business that carried his name. He, along with his father, created a legacy built on tradition, quality, and hard work. He cherished the loyalty of his customers, the dedication of his employees, and treated everyone like family. Known for greeting customers by name, slipping a cupcake or cream puff into a child’s hand, and offering help to anyone in need, his kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on all who met him. His door—and his heart—were always open.

Above all, Vincent was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his time with his family and spoke with pride about his children and grandchildren often. He loved spending time vacationing in Florida, was an expert cook, and had an appreciation for opera, travel, a well made Old Fashioned and a good cigar. His caring spirit extended to animals and plants, and he was known for feeding animals that took up residence in his yard and expertly tending to his plants and garden, all of which brought him joy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who came to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd, Gladwyne, PA 19035. A mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Due to space considerations at the church, a separate memorial has been established at Nonna and Pops at 1514 South 8th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Friends, family, and customers are invited to gather, share stories and memories, and sign the guest book.

I deepest condolences to the entire family. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Joseph Termini Vincent and Adeline 's father my Philadelphia days. Through Adeline I got to know these fine men. Vincent was one of the most sincere and polite person I had ever met. When I return to the States and Philly I always stop in at the shop to feel closer to Adeline and the Signor Termini. I'm so sorry for your loss. May God rest his soul. My mother always told me stories of your grandfather or uncle giving her a cookie whenever she came in as a little girl in the 20's and 30's. When Vince Jr mentioned your dad doing that, it made me think of my mother. After all these years, she can finally thank them in person in heaven for the wonderful memories. God bless your family.

I had the honor of working for Mr Vince many years ago. He was a kind and thoughtful gentleman who took pride in every single item that was baked. He shared a lot of stories about his family, the bakery and life in general. I enjoyed the lunchtime meals he prepared for the staff and I couldn't wait for him to make the Torrone every year, it was one of my favorite items. My sincerest heartfelt condolences to Barbara, his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Most heartfelt condolences at the loss of a very special man. I had the pleasure of seeing Papa Vince on many a Christmas Eve morning at Termini's. I will always remember his smiling face and urging customers in line to try this or that. Most of all, I remember his twinkling eyes as he made sure he kissed every pretty girl in line.

Vince was a sweet, kind and generous man! We ate a lot at Mr. Joe’s and always loved when Vince came in. He stopped at every table to say hi! One day we had our granddaughter Natalie with us. When Vince came to our table to say hi all he could talk about was Natalie’s blue eyes! He asked her what kind of cake she liked and she said chocolate! That day we walked out with every piece of chocolate pastries they had at the restaurant! He was a kind, generous gentleman! Always smiling! Sincere condolences to his wife and family!❤️

I remember meeting Vincent Sr. 40 years ago at the bakery on 8th Street while I was down in South Philadelphia visiting my aunt's Angie and Marie and uncle's Frankie and Gino and they took me to the bakery. What an honorarial pleasure it was to meeting Vincent Sr. for the first time. Such a wonderful person. Aunt's Angie and Marie were regular customers for 45 years and still go there. I still go to that bakery sometimes with my wife, few of the kids and grandkids. Vincent Sr. was like family. I live in Northeast Philadelphia and still go there. Vincent Sr. was truly an amazing gentleman who was absolutely proud of serving so many customers like me and my family and my aunt's Angie and Marie and uncle's Frankie and Gino along with their family members. Vincent Sr. will be sadly missed by countless people.
